Marshal Registration

Message from the Scottish Association of Car Clubs

Marshals are the true lifeblood of motorsport. Without marshals, there would be no events – it’s as simple as that.

In order to recognise this, the Scottish Association of Car Clubs has decided to do something to show how much our volunteers are valued by events and competitors. Starting in January 2015 we are putting in place a recognition and reward system for ALL marshals across ALL MSA-governed motorsport events. Very simply put, each time you assist on an event you will gain points towards rewards. The details of these rewards will be announced shortly, but we can promise a truly exciting range of goodies.

In order to facilitate recording of event attendance we are using the MSA’s Marshals’ Grading Scheme. We ask all marshals who wish to be included in the Scottish Rewards Scheme to sign up for the free MSA Marshal registration. The record card that is associated with this will be the base for the Scottish Reward scheme.

For full details of how to register for the MSA Marshals' Grading Scheme click here to go to the Scottish Association of Car Clubs website. (

Arnold Clark / Thistle Hotels Snowman Rally - request for marshals

by Garry 26. January 2015 20:35

On Saturday 21st February 2015 Highland Car Club will host the opening round of the 2015 Scottish Rally Championship. Come and join us to help celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The Snowman Rally.

To help ensure a safe, enjoyable and competitive day of motorsport we need volunteer Marshals for:

·         Stage Arrivals

·         Stage Starts

·         Flying Finishes

·         Stop Lines

·         In-Stage Marshals

·         Spectator Area Safety

Every volunteer will receive a Goody Bag, including a free programme and Snowman bunnet, and also entry into our Marshals Prize Draw. There will be a Training & Information Evening before the event, providing an opportunity to find a post best suited to you.

For 2015, why not bring along a new Marshal to learn the ropes with an experienced crew? Young Cadet Marshals are very welcome too - as long as they are 11 or older we can find a safe and supervised role for everyone.

Are you competing in 2015? Please bring along an extra pair of hands to Marshal - our rally cannot run without the 200+ volunteers we need to help you enjoy your day in the forests!

Come and JOIN us, get CLOSE to the action, and get INVOLVED in rallying – it’s a great day out, and it’s FREE!

We have attached a Marshals Registration form to this e-mail. Please volunteer, complete the form, and set the date in stone in your diary. In the meantime please pass this e-mail around your club-mates, friends, families, communities and work colleagues. If you’re involved in other clubs and organisations, PLEASE spread the word. You might be surprised by the response from runners, golfers, green-laners and mountain rescuers.

For further details, or to add an e-mail address to our database, please contact

Charlie Munro, Chief Marshal (07753 813 784), or Michelle Falconer, Assistant Chief Marshal (07768 010 462) or email
